Movement: Finding a Place to Train

How to pick a gym, studio or class that you will actually keep going to

Match the room to the habit

Big gyms suit people who train alone and want equipment and long opening hours. Studios suit people who need a set time, a coach and a small group. Martial arts and dance clubs suit people who want to learn a skill rather than log a workout.

Questions worth asking first

Ask about trial classes, off peak pricing, contract length, and whether beginners are put in a separate session. Ask how full the class you want is at the time you can actually attend.

Start with two sessions a week

Consistency beats intensity. Pick a place close to home or work, book two fixed slots, and only add more once those two feel automatic.
