Like most people looking for a home, my wife and I had a big “must have” list, we also naively thought we could find the perfect house and navigate the fast-moving housing market on our own.
Fortunately, we met Tom Martin of the Martin Group at Keller Williams North Shore at an open house he was showing and were immediately impressed, not as much by the house as by his knowledge, easy going demeanor, local experience, and professionalism.
After nearly two years looking on our own, we decided to get Tom and his team on our side. Things moved quickly after that with Tom creating a customized web portal that fed us new listings. More importantly however, was Tom’s agility in scheduling showings, responding to questions, and providing insights into the properties we targeted. We would be remiss not to give a shout out to Marcus who also gave us his forthright opinion and kept our expectations high even in this challenging buyers’ market.
When the right home showed up, Tom and his team were able to provide answers to every question we could throw at them. They helped us through the process from beginning to end (transaction coordinator Julie was a godsend), but their support did not end when the transaction closed. Tom and his team have continued to reach out to us, giving us leads on contractors, services, and inviting us to events.
Overall, our experience with The Martin Group was outstanding, and we would recommend their services to anyone looking for a home in the area.

I encountered the Martin Group over a year ago via a mutual friend who had them sell her investment property (in under 5 days) in late 2019. I had a large portfolio of rental properties in 6 different US cities and needed someone here in Milwaukee to sell the ones we had here. After meeting with Tom virtually in October, he and his team put together a plan to sell all 5 properties. Over the course of the next 10 months they prepared, staged, marketed, and sold all 5. There were multiple hurdles over that 10-month period (Covid shut down, the crash of the Airbnb market and general buyer fears of the unknown). Tom and his team handled EVERY hurdle, negotiated each deal, worked with me to remodel one property that was not selling, and even found us over a half dozen tenants for some of the vacant units. We closed on our last property in October. The Martin Group is one of the most efficient, knowledgeable, and professional real estate teams I have ever worked with not only in Milwaukee but the entire US. My fiancée and I worked with The Martin Group at Keller Williams to purchase our first home. Prior to working with The Martin Group at Keller Williams we had spoken with some other buyers agents but were left mostly unimpressed from those experiences. However, once we found The Martin Group at Keller William and our agent Marcus Auerbach we had a very positive home buying experience. A couple reasons as to why we were so pleased with the experience include:
-Marcus took the time to meet with us before looking at homes to better understand our goals and expectations. He also walked us through the home buying process and the state of the market. There was a focus on educating us as buyers so we could make an educated purchase.
-Marcus being an investor himself, was able to offer additional advice in regards to our specific real estate strategy. We eventually purchased a duplex and currently, owner occupy half and rent out the other half. We would especially recommend Marcus for anyone interested in investment properties.
-Never felt pressured to make any purchasing decisions.
