You can really feel the love here! Very spiritual, St. Nicholas, the living saint himself, played a big role in its establishment. Very worshipful liturgical service with Traditions passed down largely unchanged from the Ancient church, all services in English with the occasional Greek and Arabic "Lord have mercy." Fasting and feasting, the community's potlucks and bake sales are diverse, cross cultural, and delicious! (This is the church with the Baklava stand at the Strawberry and Wine Harvest Festivals.) Young, grassroots, growing parish of the apostolic Antiochian archdiocese (Antioch is the place recorded in the book of Acts where followers of Jesus were first called Christians.) It's been said that "the Orthodox Church is the best-kept secret in America." As a convert, I consider it the "indigenous" living Christian church, a tapestry of love weaving together beautiful cultures. Rich iconography, with an ongoing class in the liturgical artform. Worth stopping in!
